its 35th Anniversary at a Dinner Ball at the Radisson O'Hare
On August
4, 2002, the Quezon Association of the Midwest celebrated their
35th Anniversary in the form of their Annual Ball at the Radisson
O'Hare. The event commemorated the QAM's 35 years in existence
since its founding by Vicente Correa, Sr.† in 1967.
Her honorable Emelinda Lee Pineda, Consul General of the Philippines
was in attendance. Also making special appearances were all the
past presidents and QAM muses for the past 35 years. The past presidents
made their mark by presenting their rendition of the Rigodon de
Honor. QAM President Renee B. Laylo handed over the presidential
duties to Connie V. Recalde for the 2002-2003 term. The highlight
of the event was the presentation of the town muses and crowning
of the new Miss QAM, Rhonda Laylo by past muse Irene Mae Ona. Please
