On September 7, 2002, Connie V. Recalde took office
as the new president of the Quezon Association of the Midwest.
Earlier in the year, Connie had confided in one of her daughters,
Jeannette, as to her decision to take office. Below is an exert
from her email to Jeannette:
"I have to think deep & hard because it is a job/responsibility
that I would like to be able to give 100% (if not more) of my attention,
time, and energy. I've always been a proud member of QAM and will
always be. What helped me make up my mind? My family gave me their
thumbs up. I have Ate Dellie [Cerrudo], Tita Ruby [Salvador], Pareng
Fred [Almeyda], Pareng Meynard [Masaganda], and Luz [Bello] as
resources and role models. The Atimonan Circle of Chicago has young,
energetic, strong, united, dynamic, and very daring officers and
will members..who are always willing, able and ready to support
any endeavor. I guess I should feel humble, proud and energetic.
Well, I should stop (while I'm ahead) before I run out of adjectives
to use. So, all I can say is, LET'S ROLL!!!" |
