Founded in 1967 by Vicente Correa Sr.+, the
Quezon Association of the Midwest (QAM) serves as a nonprofit umbrella
organization with a roster of over 1,000 families in the Midwest
of Quezon descent. As a parent organization to over 10 organized
town associations, the QAM plays an important role in the Filipino-American
community of the Chicagoland area, other parts of the US, and at
home in the Philippines. It is not only a social organization, but
a civic, charitable, and cultural organization as well. Its family
values and sense of community give its members a place to rediscover
their roots and the opportunity to give back to their community.
The Quezon Association of the Midwest has been involved in countless
projects such as medical missions to the Philippines, scholarship
programs, cotillions, annual balls, international and domestic tours
and trips, sporting events, theatrical showcases, charities, and
sales to name a few. Many other Filipino-American organizations in
the Chicagoland have shown their recognition by honoring the organization
with rewards. The greatest reward, however, for the Quezon Association
of the Midwest, has been its sense of community for its members..
